Maybe that’s why people think AI will end the world. Because if it goes well, in 20 years, you’ll be able to live very comfortably off the grid without any recurring expense. No rent, no electric bill, no water bill, no security bill, and no food bill. No more rent seeking.

And if AI doesn’t go well – if the system keeping power was worth sacrificing the future for – then that post scarcity world is what they took from you.
